Hammons To MEPs: Extend DST, Save Canada/World

Thursday, March 27, 2025 (Bad Kreuznach, Germany) – Sitting just a few miles from his birthplace in the heart of Europe, the Chair of the Unity Party of America (https://unitypartyamerica.us) humbly suggests, in an open letter to the European Parliament, that the continent of his birth extend this year’s Daylight Saving Time by just one week to demonstrate solidarity with the Dominion of Canada and thus seize the day and the mantle of Manifest Destiny from a James K. Polk wannabe.

“As I outlined in the letter posted on the Unity Party site, it’s really quite simple,” says party chair Bill Hammons, an American citizen arguably trapped in the heart of Europe, at least out of a desire to reconnect with his earliest roots and not wait for his turn to be arrested for speaking his American mind. “It could all begin with the European Union extending this year’s DST by one week to sync clocks with Canada in a show of solidarity. What might ‘it,’ exactly, turn out to be? That might best be left to a global Manifest Destiny, but the proposal of the Anglo-French Alliance of 1940 did happen in Europe, and a similar Union will be the only way to turn the tide on any invaders all the way to the Elbe … in a manner of speaking.
