Founder: Democracy’s Death by a Thousand Steps

Wednesday, September 24, 2025 (Some University in Heidelberg, in the Land of the Broad Sunlit Uplands) – The Founder and Chair of the Unity Party of America, having literally just made the case for the death of the world’s greatest experiment in democracy, takes a break from a Teutonic deluge of near-Biblical proportions to reflect on the death of American democracy by a thousand steps.

”First of all, hats off yet again to the West Coast Wizard Andrew Giusto, who’s now doing his magic on the East Coast, bringing the Unity Party US state total to 47,’” says Unity Chair Bill Hammons. “It’s still yet to be 100% confirmed who’ll be fulfilling which role in our latest state, but suffice it to say that the Unity Party continues to grow and develop. We’re also eyeing rolling the platforms of other parties into our own, with an eye on a full-fledged Spring 2026 (sooner?) merger.

“It’s becoming increasingly clear that all of this will be witnessed from over the Pond by the Founder and Chair while he works to build a new base for the Americans who will one day follow him, as he increasingly sees a divergence from the Path of Progress by a country that’s increasingly giving off the vibe of a cult worthy of Jim Jones. ‘Death by a thousand cuts’ doesn’t really apply here, because it’s clear that the deadliest strikes at the heart of the American experiment are bloodless. And being bloodless, they are being mistaken for being benign. Death by a thousand steps to the cliff, and one step over? Forward UP.”
